Paint Protection Film | Seeing Double - Porsche 911 GT3

Nov 18, 2017

If you ask people what their dream car is I'm sure you would receive a variety of answers, from exotic super cars to vintage muscle. One car I'm sure would come up often is the Porsche 911. This is arguably one of the most iconic sports cars in history and still today is thriving. We recently received this 2018 Porsche 911 GT3. This car a true race-inspired machine that delivers on the track or the street. This is how we protected this 911 GT3 in hopes to preserve it for a future generation.

It all starts with a wash and decontamination to prep the surface for the film. Following this is paint correction, the process of removing any scratches or imperfections in the paint that could be sealed in by the paint protection film. This is truly one of the most important steps.

Now we've detailed how we install paint protection film a few times, but if you're new to the blog here is a quick rundown. Each piece of film is cut via a plotter in house to ensure perfect fitment. After the film has been cut, the car is sprayed down with a "slip solution" and the film is placed on the panel and aligned properly. Once the film is in position we squeegee the slip solution out from under the film, adhering the adhesive backed film to the panel. Edges are wrapped and seams are hidden to create a near invisible install. Now this may sound simple, but is actually quite difficult and our installers have many years of experience in doing this.

Once the film has settled and the car has been thoroughly checked over it is time to pull it outside and admire our work.

Coincidentally another customer showed up with his GT3 right as I was wrapping up photos of the 2018 we had just completed. His car had been coated with C.Quartz Professional just a few months prior and is still looking phenomenal. I had to take advantage of the situation and grab a few photos of the two together. Enjoy!
